Our Mission
We believe that children thrive in an environment that values their own uniqueness, while providing support and opportunities to grow emotionally, socially and creatively.
By building on each child’s strengths, interests and curiosities, we guide each child to explore the world around them as well as develop new abilities and form close relationships.
Svitlychka offers a full-day program, before and after school program and summer program.
A Co-operative Space
We highly value the participation of parents; it is an integral part of the co-operative process.
The parents and guardians of the children in Svitlychka Ukrainian Co-op Nursery School own and run the school cooperatively, in partnership with the school’s Director and trained and certified nursery school teachers.
Each school year, one parent or caregiver from each family volunteers for a parent job that supports the operation and maintenance of the school.
A parent executive board, elected by the members, makes the decisions necessary to run the school: hiring staff, setting policy, budgeting, etc.
